Three painters open their studio doors during Open House New York weekend. Tatjana Krizmanić, Nessa Ryan and Michael Stamos first met in Studio 7 at the Art Students League, in the studio of the teacher and mentor Sharon Sprung who shaped how each of us sees. We now work under the name Outpost 7, and we invite you to come and watch a painting take shape.
Look closely at the drawings and studies, the palettes in use, the easels mid-work, and the layers that build a canvas. Our studio brings together modern realist paintings of the figure and still life with contemporary works full of bold color and lively brushwork, so you can see how different approaches grow from the same foundation of looking closely and drawing well.
Stay as long as you like, ask us anything, and let a painting lead you into a conversation. Past open studios have been full of curious, generous visitors, and the conversations are the part we love most. We look forward to meeting you.
