Blue Hour

This diptych grew out of watching the city settle into night, when windows begin to glow more brightly than the sky and the moon quietly takes its place above everything we think is urgent.

The lower panel holds the restless light of streets and buildings. Above it, clouds drift across the moon in their own slow time. Together they feel like two kinds of night coexisting, one human and flickering, the other distant and steady. …read more
