At Home honors the ordinary objects I have gathered over the years: the jugs, plates, fabrics and fruit that quietly fill a life. These two hand-painted ceramic pitchers came from people I love, my old roommate and my mother-in-law, and I think of them both whenever I look at the painting.

I painted the series during the bleak months of the pandemic, seeking to bring light and passion into a time of uncertainty and change. The painting is built from cobalt blue, a glowing orange, and a red cloth alive with movement and welcome. Its size suits a kitchen, dining room or entryway.

This is one of the three remaining paintings in the series. Each one is an original, painted by in oil on canvas.
