This intimate double-sided watercolor holds two landscapes in conversation—two breaths of Bhutan captured in quick, responsive strokes. One side looks toward Wangdue Phodrang, its white-walled dzong resting like a guardian along the hillside. Terraced slopes, deep greens, and soft river tones carry the viewer into that familiar dance of light and mist that defines the valley.

On the reverse, the vast quiet of Phobjikha Valley opens like a held inhale. Broad meadows, low clouds, and distant mountains unfold with a sense of stillness that is almost soundless. Here the land stretches out in gentle planes of green and gold, a place where cranes return, where time feels slower, and the sky seems impossibly wide.
