My love of painting was born

amidst the green hills of Istria, a peninsula in northwestern Croatia across the bay from Venice, where I grew up in a rich community of artists and sculptors. I started painting at an early age, guided by one of Croatia’s greatest painters, Nikola Reiser. A poetic and delicate artist, he taught me to always remain true to my unique expression.

In my painting, I seek to honor life's fleeting moments, to capture their dynamic expression, and to let them live on. Whether I am painting the ethereal realm of a traditional lama dance or the organic beauty of ripe pears on a windowsill, I aim to unveil the sublime within the ordinary, where a natural joyfulness exists and is accessible to all of us.

My chosen mediums are oil on canvas and pastel on paper, and painting is my unwavering passion, an inner calling that compels me to create. My art has often served as a trusted confidant, a means to discover order amid chaos, and a profound conduit to the essence of life.

Bonnard, Cezanne, Chagall, Sorolla, Vermeer, Van Gogh, Artemisia Gentileschi, and Mary Cassatt are the artists who inspire me, as well as do my beloved teachers Nikola Reiser, Max Ginsburg and Sharon Sprung. It has been my privilege to share this journey and the fruits of my labor with others.
